Cost of Living
Cost of Living is a completely refit, 1985 38' Bertram III. Known for their exceptionally solid construction, Bertram has made a name for themselves with their legendary ride and reliability. The term was coined, "Bertram Weather" when the only boats that could go, were Bertrams.

Who We Are
What started out as a dad and his boys with a simple passion for fishing, quickly turned into a relentless pursuit of big fish and the joy of seeing even bigger smiles when someone gets to catch their first blue water gamefish. What was once just a weekend escape from work, turned into spending free time studying rigging and watching the weather. The 17' foot boat of our youth grew to 21', then 24', then 27'. We couldn't get enough. A wise old captain once told me, "It's a sickness, son. Once you've got it, you won't be able to shake it." He was right. The rods got bigger and our target species became more ambitious. Eventually, we decided it was time to expand and share our love of the ocean and all it had to offer. Of course, burning hundreds of gallons of fuel, thousands of dollars worth of tackle, and the breathtaking expense of owning a boat can only be summed up as one thing, the cost of living. For us, fishing is living.

Our Goal
Our goal is to make your fishing experience one you want to return to. We want you to feel like you're onboard with old friends, and hopefully that will become true. Obviously, they call it fishing and not catching. No one can positively guarantee a catch. However, we are going to do our best and utilize every tactic at our disposal to ensure you leave with great memories and full coolers. Our end objective is that you leave as excited and as in love with the ocean as we are. Come enjoy Wanchese, the Outer Banks, and all the area has to offer. We'd love to help you experience that.
