The Boat
Welcome aboard! If you've spent much time around sport fishing boats, you have no doubt heard the name Bertram. Known as one of the most sea worthy production boats to be produced, the SeaKeeper equipped Cost of Living is no exception. The hull is a 1986 38' III powered by twin 8.3L 480CE Cummins Diesels that has been meticulously maintained and completely refit over the winter and spring of 2023/2024. This included an interior remodel, full paint, and cockpit rebuild. Providing a comfortable and efficient 22 knot(26mph) cruise all while providing peace of mind knowing they will reliably bring you home.
The Cost of Living has a well appointed salon with a large comfortable couch perfect for the ride out and napping on the way home. There are also four SeaTamer bean bags. These are amazing. Featuring full Heat and A/C, your day on the water is sure to be comfortable.
The boat also has a fully functional head(bathroom) on board with running hot and cold fresh water. There is also a coffee maker for your convenience
Our boat has been equipped with a SeaKeeper 6. This is a State-of-the-Art technology that has revolutionized the fishing experience, it is not standard for most charter boats. This device is a gyro-stabilization unit that senses when the boat is rocking and counter acts that to reduce the roll by as much as 97%. This tremendously decreases the likelihood of seasickness at the same time makes the trip much more enjoyable regardless if you're prone to motion sickness or not.

We are fully rigged and setup to chase pretty much anything you dream of catching. We have a full setup of Shimano tackle including heavy gear for large blue marlin and giant bluefin tuna down to lighter tackle for nearshore Spanish mackerel and bottom fishing. The boat received a brand new Garmin electronics package upgrade in 2022 including new transducers along with new Lee's outriggers among many other things. We also have gear for dredges, down riggers, and a planer rods. Our ultimate goal is a successful trip.
